Meet Joshua

Joshua

Joshua is a bright 6-year-old boy. He is doing well in reading and language but his Grade One teacher has concerns with Joshua’s printing, participation in physical education and his ability to get ready for recess and eat lunch.

Other children sometimes tease him as he frequently trips or bumps into things. He is unable to manage his knapsack or getting on the school bus so his mother drives him to and from school. Joshua is becoming frustrated and frequently acts out to avoid motor-based activities. Joshua’s parents also recognize that something is wrong, but they are not sure what it is. They feel lost trying to figure out what Joshua needs and how best to manage the issues that he is having at home and school. This workshop will provide some information and suggested steps forward for Joshua and his family.
